Not so long ago I posted about lack of server-to-server support in Google Talk. At the time, they have only planned to “federate” with their partner companies. This of course really did not sit well with Jabber users. And it seems that Google does want to keep the geek crowd happy.
They recently changed their mind. Now they promises to provide open server-to-server capability in the future releases. They first want to work out all the kinks, and test it out with their partners.
This sounds like a reasonable plan. If they will really make it open to everyone, that would be really something! AOL should start shitting their pants now :P
