If you play against a human on paper you can sometimes get away with it, but the script above will automatically <em>take</em> a square if you do this. So as long as you can, you need to put lines in semi-random places. Once you run out of <em>free</em> lines you will have to give away some points. The trick is to pick a spot on the board in which the opponent can only score 2-3 squares and then must stop. On the other hand if you see the opponent puts down a line in a way it allows you to score, you want to be very careful with your extra moves. You want to score as many points as you can, so place each scoring line in a way that will allow you to immidiately place another.
