Flickr Halloween Costume Rundown
It’s Halloween so I figured I might as well check out Flickr and see what do people do costume wise this year. All of the photos here were publicly available, uploaded this year and tagged with “Halloween”. I assigned each costume an arbitrary score based on how cool, geeky, obscure, well made, or original it was. All the scores are absolutely subjective, and biased. 
Btw, one star does not mean bad. It means that for some reason your costume is cool enough to warrant my attention. If you get 5 stars, you are just plain friken awesome!
Oh, and I don’t know any of these people in the pictures unless stated otherwise.

I have this theory. If a hot chick dresses up as a video game character, she becomes even hotter. Case in point, Chun Li:

Chun Li is teh sex, and you can clearly see that those two dudes in the back totally agree. I give it 5 stars for awesome!

Asian nurses FTW! Nurse costumes are generally lame but I’m making an exception in this case on account of the cute and asian. I’m docking 2 stars for lack of originality.

Holly crap! It’s Akuma! I really like what he did with the hair. If you go as a video game, or anime character, it is crucial that you get the crazy hair right!

I call this one the KISS principle in action. This is probably the simplest, cheapest costume ever but it looks great!

If you want simple, you can always go as Mario. These guys seem to be missing the regulation mustache but since they are jumping I guess we can overlook that. New Halloween party rule is that all the Marios and Luigis are required to jump up and make the bli-blip Nintendo sound effect all night.

All this chick needed to do is to wear pink and hold a box, and yet this is one of the most awesome costumes ever. That, and she kinda looks like Fututurama’s Amy Wong. Yes, there is very little “costume” to speak of, but if you look the part you really don’t need much to make it awesome. Speaking of Futurama characters:

Best costume idea ever! It looks like crap, because it is supposed to! But I’m deducting a star for attention to detail. AWESOMO had way more shit scribbled all over the box and I don’t remember any shit hanging from his side ready to break off.

This one is both original, obscure, home made and awesome! The Venture Bros’ Grand Galactic Inquisitor is teh rulez! Heh… Didn’t that episode air for the first time like 2 weeks ago anyway?
