Your Top 5 Favorite Firefox Extensions
I do this every once in a while because the list of my favorite extensions tends to change over time. Here are the ones I currently use:
- Adblock - hands down, the best extension ever invented in the universe. If you are not using it you deserve the shitty online experience. Side note - I whitelist the blogs that I read and comment on regularly - unless their banners are intrusive.
- Gmail Manager - if you have a Gmail account or two, this is definitely an extension for you.
- Adsense Notifier - I like to know how much monies I earn through my Adsense. I can tell you it’s not much, but I like to see the amount I have earned in my statusbar.
- Linkification - it converts all url’s on the page into clickable links. This is especially useful when browsing various bulletin boards where people can’t figure out if HTML or bbcodes are enabled…
- Cute Menus - This is a totally eye-candy extension which puts little icons next to different menu options. It beautifies both the application menus and the context menu. I like it because it makes the browser more fluid and intuitive - most of the icons are meaningful and do a great job of singling out important items that you might be looking for.
What is your top 5? And if you don’t use Firefox, what is your browser’s killer-functionality that makes it better than Firefox?

I use all of yours except Adsense Notifier - don’t have Adsense running anywhere. In addition to those I have the following two add-ons:
NoScript - “allows Java, JavaScript (and other plugins) only for trusted domains of your choice.” It takes a bit of “training”, but it is a great add-on and I would recommend it for safer browsing experience.
Skype extension for Firefox - it turns any telephone number on a page into a button which you can click and automatically call with Skype (Skype required obviously).

I love all my firefox extensions and can’t imagine live without any of them, or using any other browser except possible Opera. lol. Anyway here’s 5 I find very useful.
1: Adblock
2: Nuke Anything Enchanced
3: Web Developer toolbar
4: Stumble Upon Toolbar
5: Netcraft Toolbar
And btw I stumbled upon your site here Luke using the aforementioned tool bar. haha. And for now I am playing with netcraft to see how well it responds to the phishing scams on myspace. I would never fall for that kinda crap but this toolbar I recommend for the foolish. seems to work pretty well. Lmao!!

1. Google Browser Sync - I have many bookmarks that I like to share between work and home.
2. Rooster Teeth Site Extender - I am a big fan of the web series Red vs Blue and spend a lot of my online time in their forums.
3. User Agent Switcher - I get so tired of having Firefox blocked. There are many so called “IE only” web pages that work just fine with Firefox.
4. VideoDownloader - I used to view the source of pages to rip the actual movie, but someone took the time and wrote a plugin to do that very thing!
5. Tab Mix Plus - This tells me the load status of a page right in the tab itself. Also has the ability to lock a tab to prevent accidental closure.

Adblock is truly the king of extensions, and because of that I won’t bother mentioning it as part of a top 5
Other than that I really like “Download Embedded” (similar to video downloader but for all embedded onjects - flash stuff, javascript.. i think, all that
unfortunately if I try and use it on stuff like Youtube it just downloads their littls video player, not the video, which is where “UnPlug” comes in. Does a combination of download embedded and video downloader by downloading stuff thats based on plugins (different from video downloader in that I was able to get it to work)
Stumbleupon is nice - brings up some stuff I would never search for, but would if I knew it existed
McAfee Site Advisor is great for security - they trolled through a large proportion of the net testing email sign ups, downloads and webpages for any viruses, spam or exploits. This is then condensed into a handy colour coded system in a small bar on the bottom toolbar
PDF downloader means that PDF files dont crash or hang Firefox - always useful when PDf links arent marked as such (also just for avoiding the buggers since it alerts you to it before it loads and lets you choose to back away slowly, view it as html, or carry on
and others, but I already mentioned 5

1. The Web Developer Toolkit- loaded with goodies helpful to web developers.
2. Colorzilla- an eyedropper you can position anywhere on the current page you are viewing and it will tell you the color information.
3. FxIF- When you right click on an image to view the properties window, this adds in the EXIF data on the photo if it is available.
4. Fission- Shows a progress bar in the address bar to show how much of the page has loaded, you can choose colors or images to act as the bar.
5. FoxyTunes- Puts buttons in your browser to control the music you’re listening to (from iTunes, WinAmp, etc)…I only use this on PC; for Mac I use You Control Tunes, which puts the buttons up by the clock so you can use them no matter what application you’re in.

some i use allmost daily for professional purpose:
1) foxyproxy: set up and select different proxy’s (with expressions on when to use which)
2) crash recovery: for when an application in development is crashing, so it won’t take down all my other tabs
3) yet another window resizer: to test an application on different window sizes
at home i have about 15 extensions, which i’m not gonna mention
