Lost: Only Fools are Enslaved by Time and Space
Apparently, if you play the brainwashing scene from Not in Portland backwards, you can hear a woman’s voice saying: “only fools are enslaved by time and space”:.

Has anyone else confirmed this? I just want to make sure this is not a hoax. What is the significance of this line? Why was it streamed backwards?
According to the lost blog this is a paraphrase of an old Buddhist saying:
The wise know how to use time and space perfectly; they lead free and harmonious lives. Fools are enslaved by time and space; they are busy running around all day. Wise or foolish, the difference is obvious
Any thoughts on this?

Tao - a Chinese character often translated as ‘Way’ or ‘Path’.
What about it?

yeah sorry that didn’t make a whole lot of sense, i meant that when walt appears to, hmmm Shannon i think, he says something that sounds like nonsense, but if you play it backwards it makes sense, but i don’t remember what he says.

I’m pretty sure the Tao is the Buddhist bible.

The Tao Te Ching is a classic text on Taoism, Taoism is NOT the same as Buddhism. However, these two schools of thought are very similar and some forms of Buddhism are heavily influenced by Taoism. It is possible to be both Taoist and Buddhist at the same time, in fact most american Buddhist draw alot of inspiration from the Tao Te Ching. But Buddhism has no Bible no holy scriptures at all, no do they really Believe in anything at all. At least the ones who have psychologically advanced beyond the mythical stage of development. Buddha himself is said to have said:
Sounds alot like Euclid to me, haha.
However, the Tripitaka is thought to contain the actual words of Siddhartha Gautama (ie the original Buddha). But there are many different different versions of this text, and in all honesty Siddhartha unlike Euclid is probably a Mythological creation. There have been many Buddhas as this is a term that just means “a person who has attained a state of perfect enlightenment“. Many other text and writings may be considered Sacred by any of the many flavors of Buddhism, and some may reject all scripture.
As to “The wise know how to use time and space perfectly…” that has been credited to a Master Chao Chou, but I have no clue as to the accuracy of that.
As to the movie clip, I don’t know at all ????

I just found this and I had the episode downloaded. I ripped out the audio, reversed it and slowed down the play back. I think that video on YouTube makes it a lot clearer than it actually is. Someone has touched it up, BUT it is there! You can clearly make out “Only fools are enslaved” at one point and then another you hear “Time and space” at another. You hear it muffled several times.
The one on youtube is exageratted but true! I had to do it myself before I actually believed it.
Ps. Why is it so creepy listening to audio backwards? Thank you Exorcist!
