This is an interactive flash animation, showing you a life-size representation of a whale. You drag the image with your mouse, or click on the “mini-map” area to jump to different locations. It really gives you a sense of how huge these animals really are.

Yeah, I think this was done as part of some endangered species, or save the whales campaign. I think this it is a really great way to spread awareness about these issues because it’s kinda viral.
People post it all over the place as “look at the hueg whale” thing, but they also get exposed to some info about the sad state of affairs regrading these awesome animals.
