@Luke: As always, you have the best description of Independence Day I’ve read so far

I got neither off technically, however I’m taking a vacation day on Monday. I would have taken Friday, but someone got there before me in my department.

I agree though, people need to be educated about the great Smith and Goldbloom. If it hadn’t been for Goldbloom cracking the secret alien code with his macbook we would all be dead or alien slaves.

I got today off. If it falls on a Sunday (like next year), I get Monday off.

I prefer Monday because I get a three-day weekend followed by a shortened week. I hate returning to work after a long weekend, but having a shortened week to ease back into helps.
