Utilities

Here are some small utility applications that I wrote at different times.

  • dice.exe - a command line dice rolling app. Pass in a string such as 4d6 as an argument and you will get 4 randomly generated numbers as if you rolled four 6 sided dice. Requires .NET.
  • WinDice.exe - same concept as above, only includes a nice GUI. Requires .NET
  • ArkMachine.exe - I wrote this app for my brother Ark who plays the online game at megalomania-game.co.uk. In the game all research and building projects would take given number of hours to complete, and provide you with a percentage based progress bar. So for example you would know that your 10 hour project is 24% complete. Unfortunately at the time there was no feature in the game that would show you how much time it will take for the project to complete. Enter ArkMachine - you plug in the total number of hours the project takes, the % of completeness and app will spit out how much time you still have to wait till it’s complete. Requires .NET

Yes, but was it written in C#?

I put these here because there are like 2-3 people out there who actually use/used to use them. I mean, if you don’t like them, write your own. It should take you like 4-5 minutes depending on the language. )
