Yeah… I don’t even remember what it was supposed to be.

Anyway, on (K)ubuntu 7.10 just do:

aptitude install sun-java5-jre sun-java5-sdk

That should do the trick. :)

Eh… They keep messing with the backports. I hate when they do that.

Anyways, this might help. It’s not as easy as apt-get but it seems straightforward.
