I remember installing cold war a few years back on my vista machine. The starforce in cold war turned out to be incompatible with vista and would not let me play the game.

I had to crack the game I payed for just to play it.

Talk about encouraging the consumer to pirate their games in the near future.

I just stumbled across this article and got really scared of StarForce because I just installed Scrapland on my machine. It seems that my version of the game (which was on the German magazine “Computer Bild Spiele”) is not protected by StarForce, at least I cannot find any Non-PNP-Driver called StarfForce…. whew. Lucky me ;)
