@ Luc:

True. Just like gravity among other things. Anyways, if someone can disprove it using science, and no one out there can refute your findings then the scientific community will be forced to accept it. But the important part here is that you have to use the scientific method. In fact this is happening all the time. Our views on evolution today are much different to Darwins ideas. We found new evidence and incorporated it into the theory.

You can’t just say “hey, I saw a banana yesterday and I think this is a proof that some magical entity created all life”. It doesn’t work that way. You can’t refute hard science with “folksy wisdom”.

Also the intelligent designer issue is infinitely recursive:

It stipulates that nothing as complex as life could have arisen without being designed, but ignores that the designer would also be a very, very complex system. How did that system come into existence? If nothing complex can be created randomly, then who designed the designer? Saying that it always existed just doesn’t cut it.

I’m sorry, Luke, but evolution is NOT a scientific fact.
It is, and (for the time being) will be a theory.

Actually there is alot of geological evidence pointing towards a gradual change. Scientists have also observed evolution at work in insects (whose laife span is very short) by observing how isolated groups adapt to their environments via natural selection.

Evolution is a scientific fact that has been even acknowledged by the Catholic Church. Vatican’s Chief Astronomer has been very vocal opponent of teaching intelligent design in science curriculum.

Trying to discredit evolution because it does not agree with an ancient bibilical allegory is a little sily.

No offense dude but I see no definitive proof on either side to say that creatism or evolutionism is right or wrong. “The absense of evidence is not the evidence of absence.” It’s sad to admit on so many levels but that line is true. Scientists make mistakes and so do Religious Zealots, both are still Human and even if you believe in evolution we aren’t perfect in the sightest. Both are refered to as theories for the same reason. Sorry but in reality it’s a lot easier to disprove one thing turned into another so dramatically (no middle steps between) than to disprove some-one/thing created everything in existance billions of years ago.

[…] It’s hard to believe that anyone could take this kind of stuff seriously. But then again, some people think that Banana is an undeniable proof against evolution. So you never know… […]
