Yeah, some people absolutely hated EOE. I can see why, but personally really liked this ending. It was much darker, and lacked the positive “congratulations” ending but I guess it somehow seemed more profound because of that.

But yeah, it’s all a matter of taste I guess.

I think there is another ending or two to the show that was made because people were not happy with EoE but I never got around to watching it.
I havent’ heard of another ending than EOE, but there is a new set of Eva movies that are coming out as we speak.

I hate to be the party pooper for anime, but I have to disagree with EOE as I enjoyed the TV ending more than the movie personally. More of taste as I felt I didn’t need to see anymore than what was there, and this was back in the fansubbed tape trading days when a friend pressured me to watch it all. I had my fill after one marathon viewing, nearly drew me out of the fandom altogether.

Yeah, they should. But I guess they only have a deal to air Evangelion the Series™, and not End of Evangelion™ :( It’s all copyright bullshit, but that’s how it works.

I’m not sure if the last two eps were really filler. I think they had allot to do with the Instrumentality Project. From what I gathered after watching ep 25 and reading some minor spoilage on review sites, the object of the instrumentality project was to jump start human evolution.

In ep 25 they mention bringing an end to humans as physical individuals, and a new beggining for humans as a collective. So the last two eps are simply the outcome of instrumentality.

Everyone seems to loose their physical individuality, and floats around in the void for a while, untill they re-constitute themselves as individuals via their own volition. I think it is all really deap, but there is just no way for viewers to pick up on that by just watching the series :(

They really should show these episodes on Adult Swim. I’m dissapointed that they ended theri run with those un-nessecary episodes. Its like filler episodes, only at the END!
