This is what happens when you type something up at 3am, and then let the spell checker run amok on it. I probably misspelled tactile so horribly that it became textile somehow. Sigh…

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a compression of the median nerve at the wrist. If anything, having your hand float in air is probably going to help relieve it. But of course, the rest of your arm will have problems from supporting a floating forearm long-term.

There is also a big difference between tactile feedback (“the feel of the thing”) and textile feedback (“I can’t believe you bought that shirt! Are you blind!?”)

It looks interesting as a concept control, but very limited as a real control. The ergonomics look awful, except for very short-term use. It’s too bulky to be a console control – no holding that on your lap as you kick back on your sofa, and for PC gaming it has a giant deskspace footprint.

I think they’ve erred in making the displacements too large. You could do a better controller by taking a mouse + mousepad w/ wristrest concept, and incorporating a z-axis somehow. You could take a console pad and put a thumbloop on the joystick and incorporate z-axis that way. But that abomination of a controller will never fly.
