Looks like it has finally been cleared from the copyright issue. No ruling of course, just a sealed settlement. As I expected, Fox gets big lump sum payment and some undisclosed chunk of movie revenue.

Doesn’t matter which way the judge rules, enough money has been sunk already, that to ditch it now would be taking a loss much bigger than just paying off the other guy. And there’s a new trailer out!

Well, I believe the historical inaccuracy and anachronism were part of the source material. It was really a simple fantasy story with quasi-historical setting to begin with. I was also disappointed by it, but then again I would probably be disappointed by the source too.

So I’ll give Snyder the benefit of the doubt and hope that given more complex and layered source he can still do a faithful adaptation…

Don’t know the Watchmen, so I have no clue why you are so excited. ;-)

But I know how Zak Snyder did 300 and I still believe it is one of the worst movies of last year… Now, of course, the graphic novel was abysmal in its politically loaded and ridiculous anachronism.

Well, Rorschach’s costume (if you can call it that) was kinda awesome as it was, and it seems that they haven’t changed it at all. Which is a good thing.

Nite Owl was possibly the worst fashion victim – others would be semi-plausible with small tweaks.

Arguably, if you think about it, most superhero costumes usually need a little bit of tweaking with their strange preference for tight, brightly colored spandex suits.

If they manage to get the emotional side right then it will be great, I’m not sure it will be easy. I agree with your feelings about the costumes. I remember reading it and thinking they’d never work in real life.
