The sign painter is hilarious, so is another character in chapter 4 (but I don’t want to spoil the end). The cute design reminds of the comic book style of The Rain Slick Precipice Of Darkness.

The structure of the game (World of Goo) itself is a lot like that of Portal. The principle is simple: you connect goo bals or go through portals. But then you can play an play again through the levels until you remember you have to get some sleep. Both in Portal and World of Goo, there are “achievements” (called OCD in World of Goo) and you easily get addicted to the need to perform better with each replay.

World of Goo will be a perfect present for one of my geek friends.
