@ Square:

Actually, I knew the blackout was man made as soon as I saw the clip of some dude all dressed in black walking around while everyone was passed out on the floor. Plus it just seemed like that kind of a show.

Also, if the explanation is “evil terrorists did it” I’m done.

@ Rob:

Well, I quit heroes halfway through season 2 when I realized the show was starting to meander and writers had no clue what they were doing anymore. Oh look, we found another one of those paintings that tells the future. Yeah, it was hidden all along. Oh and Peter Petrelli forgot that he has god-like powers for some reason so we get to reset his character back to season 1. Did I mention Hiro is in ancient Japan and Sylar got neutered? Ugh! WTF?

I hear it got even worse from there – someone told me that they explained their superpowers via some sort of Midichlorians bullshit. Jesus!

So yeah.

@ Matthew:

LOL! I agree. I doubt that many planes would just fall out of the sky. I’d like to think that in reality they have safe-guards against that sort of thing. I can totally see the pileups on highways happening, but exploding buildings all over the horizon was a bit to much.

I like the question of what would happen to the world if everyone blacked out for 2+ minutes. However, I don’t think there would be as many plane crashes as depicted on the show – have you noticed that in shots of the city skyline, every 3rd building bears the scars of a major air disaster – and in the last episode they’re rebuilding the capitol building. What are the chances that a plane was headed right for that building?

But in reality*, not many plane would crash, right? Like those pilots that fell asleep for 78 minutes on the way to Minneapolis a week or two ago – all that happened was that they overshot the airport by 150 miles, then landed safely. The only planes that would crash would be those on final approach or takeoff.

(* Okay, saying “in reality” is a little ironic in this context)

I see what you’re saying with the characters, but I think they are starting to develop some conflicts. However, I think I’ve really stuck with the show mostly because of the central mystery. I just want to know what the fuck is going on! After the resolve I may or may not abandon the show. I’m still watching Heroes (I’ve actually enjoyed what they’ve done with this season) if that says anything about me.

I too was bombarded by the incessant nagging to watch this show, so I pulled up Hulu and watched the first episode. I wasn’t impressed, but figured ‘Hey, it’s the first episode, and it’s a good premise.’ Since then, I’ve taken to watching the episodes when I get a chance and to be honest… I’ll probably continue on throughout the season.

Why?

For the same reasons I kept up with Warehouse 13. It’s a good idea and the writers have a chance to make it something.

Flashforward has been entertaining enough so far to keep watching. The complaints you have are starting to be addressed, especially the idea that seeing their flash forwards (How does everyone know to call them this, anyways?) ruins the future.

It does indeed look like they’re planning to keep it going after the resolve, though, if the show is popular enough. Watch the episodes on Hulu and get up to speed and you’ll see why (Spoiler: It’s man-made!)

Lastly, I will agree that the drama presented in the show isn’t very suspenseful or exciting. It’s a bit loose and undeveloped, for sure, but they’re getting there.
