This list must be wrong, you dont put Mount & Blade on a ‘to play’ list.

If you even slightly like the combat you’ll be playing religiously for a few weeks, get extremely bored and be repulsed by it for a few months. But then you’ll be having M&B craving and the cycle will restart over and over again…

I have a similar list – right now, DA: Origins is at the top (so far). I love the Zombie genre, but stayed away from Left 4 Dead because I heard you can’t really play it in Single-Player mode.

Actually, this is the most succinct and most detailed review of Torchlight I have read so far. My nostalgia can’t wait to play it now.

@ Zel:

Heh, interesting – I heard quite a few bad things about the Witcher. I still want to play it though because I read the books and all. Good to hear not everyone hated it. :)

Wow, that’s quite a list. Honestly, you’re set for at least 100 hours or gameplay, not counting Dragon Age: Origins that seems to be on a whole different level of huge : I played it around 20 hours, I’ve completed only 13% of it, and I already want to start again with another character.

I’d say try The Witcher next if you’re up for a RPG as it’s the best of the lot (including DA:O for what I’ve seen so far), or go for Borderlands for pure mindless fun.

I generally don’t digest strategy games that well – especially the RTS kind, though I do sometimes make exceptions for the SF based ones. Especially if they have a cool story.

Okay let’s forget what I said earlier : Dawn of War 2 !

Demo is available on Steam and at http://www.torchlightgame.com/download (that is the link to the install executable). I have read reports of people playing it (both steam and runic games version) under Cedega. Havent tried it myself; I dualboot into XP for gaming :)

Borderlands is awesome. Nothing deep, but really simple, enjoyable and polished Diablo style RPG play. I’m currently playing it exclusively.

Torchlight… It plays like my Nostalgia remembers the original Diablo, sounds like it and has “all” the features I’ve missed from the Diablo’s as time has passed.

I don’t play Torchlight right now, I just had to buy it after trying the demo out… I just play it in between other games.

It is just that the “between” seems to grow.
