@ StDoodle:

Wow, that sucks! I will keep this in mind for when I spawn offspring of my own. But yeah, I’m quite happy I have never had to wear contacts and/or glasses. My dad’s vision only started to deteriorate recently (in his late 50’s – and he can still read without glasses – he just ends up holding the book at like really, really far away from his face) and my mom still has near perfect vision. I’m hoping I can pass them good vision genes along to my kids one day.

Both my dad & brother are opticians, so I’ve been around contacts for a while. NB: don’t let an eight-year-old wear contacts; they will not care for them properly. :p (To this day, I cannot wear contacts; I have permanent blisters on my eyelids.)

The only really creepy thing about wearing contacts is when you spend half an hour trying to take them out, only to realize you aren’t wearing them…
