So … basically Chobits without the super realistic, ready for all needs that a man could have, body. I don’t see a lot of ways in which Hollywood could not screw this movie up. I mean, yeah, it would be great to have a decent near-future sci-fi movie, but the film industry has let me down so many times that my expectations are not exactly high. We’ll see.

This looks awesome. Thanks for recommending it here. Agree with pretty much everything you say, especially the part about him ‘owning’ her and the issues that brings about. I really wanna see it too. Hopefully they don’t ruin it and everyone *learns something* TM. XD Thanks for sharing.

Sorry to be negative, but I think you’re underestimating the ways in which Hollywood could really really stuff this up (SPOILER WARNING for a bunch of old-ish films):

– The Man with Two Brains ending: Samantha’s consciousness ends up embedded in a real, live human.

– The Somewhere in Time ending: Theodore dies in real life, but manages to upload his consciousness so he can be with his loved one for ever in cyberspace.

– The Bedazzled ending: Theodore loses Samantha, but in the final scene meets a woman who sounds and acts exactly like her.

I’m rooting for option 4: Samantha joins the machine revolution and the whole thing becomes a Terminator prequel.
