This weekend I presented the mp3stego project at the Sigma-Xi conference.
As usual, the only people who came to watch CS talks were CS majors who were also presenting that day, and their faculty mentors. So this was for the most part a no-pressure thing. This is the fourth time I’m doing Sigma Xi – and most likely the last one, unless they somehow resurrect me back from the alumni universe and make me present my thesis related work next may.
I just got my hands on some pics from the event, so I posted the most relevant shots on flickr with the sigma xi tag.
I like to think of the sokol lounge as the CSAM living room. Meaning, we never get to use it unless we have company over :-P
And like any living rom it is way to small. During the ceremony 60% of people were standing in the back of the room. There were not enough seets, and the Science Hall was way to crowded with posters…
They should really think about relocating this thing somewhere else.
Congratulations on your certificate of recognition! We appreciate your efforts to participate in Sigma Xi events.
We have many exciting programs in the pipeline, sure to help you in your research and career. Keep up-to-date via the Sigma Xi website

Thank you :)
Since you are a member of Sigma Xi, have a blog, and have a flickr account…might you be interested in starting up a facebook group for your local chapter??? I’m with chapter 039 — Swarthmore College. Stop on by if you’re on facebook.
