Immortal

Immortal Screengrab

I just saw the end of Immortal (also known as Immortel Ad Vitam) on Scifi. I was flipping through the channels and I stumbled upon the scene pictured on the thumbnail here. Actually it was the next scene which comes just after that one. In it that giant bird fies into a guy’s apartment and phases into a wall. That piqued my interest, and I decided to watch it.

All I can say is: wow, what a strange movie. I must watch the whole thing from the beggining one day because it was intriguing.

The setting itself is bizarre. It’s a futuristic NY complete with some sort of forcefield, aliens, bionic limbs and a gigantic floating pyramid full of Egyptian gods. It’s filmed with a bluish filter so everything looks dark and odd (kinda like the matrix green filter which made things look strange). Its an artsy, low budget (by Holywood standards) European flick. So it’s really quite different from the garbage Scifi is usually showing these days.

Or perhaps I just like it because I seem to have a thing for these odd looking gray skinned alien chicks with weird hair. Yup, this movie has a Chiana like character too…

I fixed some grammar and spelling mistakes, and clarified few sentences that did not make sense.
