If you want to study [tag]evolution[/tag], you can no longer do that on a federal education [tag]grant[/tag] for low-income [tag]college[/tag] students. If this is a mistake then it is very damn convenient, considering how our president is a strong supporter of teaching [tag]creationism[/tag] in schools. It’s not like these things change all that much from one year to another. I find it hard to believe that any major could simply accidentally disappear from the list without any justification.
I would really want to know who is responsible for this – who ordered it, who approve it, and who executed it. It’s a damn shame that one person’s [tag]religious bias[/tag] may have may have messed up another person’s chances of getting a college grant.

This is a sad state of affairs. Almost unbelievable. I am a pagan often the term has pejorative connotations. This is unfortunate and belongs to yesteryear not today. Most modern pagans are educated and even the Sioux ended their prayers with the phrase “All my relations.” This means to me even tribal people knew the truth. It’s sad we live in a country ruled by an illiterate redneck!!

Personally I don’t have anything against pagans. I don’t think pagans are not educated or anything like that. In fact, I bet most pagans are on average more educated and tolerant than all the righteous the bible beaters in the south.
What I really meant in my post is that creationist world view is in fact wrong according to the tenets of Christian faith. So while these people claim to be Christians, their zealotry might actually be completely misdirected making them violate the first commandment, and worship a false idol.
In other words, paganism is not wrong. It’s the hypocrisy of Evangelical Christians that pisses me off. Sorry if my statement has I offended any pagan readers.
You didn’t offend me Luke. I’ve been reading your blog here ever since I installed the StumbleUpon toolbar and stumbled upon your site. I find it thoughtful and intelligent and very well done. As some would say you have good content here, and I, and I’m sure the world at large, loves you for that.
Scientific and mathematical illiteracy tho does offend me. When will the Religious Wrong admit the err of their ways, I don’t know. Evolution is a fact. Plain for all to see. It’s funny to me that Creationist would surely want DNA evidence introduced into a trial involving the death of one of their friends or family members yet reject the same evidence when used by Evolutionary biologist. We all are children of The Mother and it surely shows in our DNA as does our family relationship to the great primates.
The ideas proposed to explain this fact, Darwin’s natural selection, Gould’s punctuated equilibrium, and the like, now these are theories. Theories with quite a bit of evidence too, not to mention mathematical models well understood.
