Jackbutt Two

Apparently some community members in Orange City, Iowa were offended by the movie title Jackass 2 displayed on the local theater billboard and demanded it to be changed:

I seriously don’t even know what to say about this. There is no comment I could make that would make this any more funny or pathetic. What the hell is a Jackbutt anyway? :P

Indeed it is worse and sounds like a porn movie. The strangest thing is surely it was the judeo-christian influence that was so offended to have the sign changed, as I know of no other religion that would care one way or the other. definately wasn’t the pagan influence. yet ass is a very common word in the bible and in english as most have one! lol. I don’t even know how many times it occurs in the bible, yet check out this search.

Crazy ain’t it. rofl. And Luke would ya mind if i posted this a bulletin on myspace, with credit and a link of course?

Oh and by the way jackbutt is a website. Not very impressive as it is basically undone, see Douglas Hall’s Jackbutt.com . Should’ve figured someone would be using that name. Gotta laugh over that!

“And the men were afraid, because they were brought into Joseph’s house; and they said, Because of the money that was returned in our sacks at the first time are we brought in; that he may seek occasion against us, and fall upon us, and take us for bondmen, and our asses.”

most of the times that ass appears in the bible are part of the phrase “and it came to pass” or anything with donkeys or Assyria involved (some of the stuff with donkeys can be misinterpreted in very amusing ways

StarHawk: go ahead and post it. It’s not really mine anyway – I found it in that news snippet that I linked to :)

Matt is right, in that search you linked returned mostly verses with words which contain ass such as pass, grass, compasseth, passover and etc.. :P

When the word ass appears by itself it is usually understood as:

But yeah, I totally agree with your point.

Matt: that quote is awesome. It works with either meaning of the word ass! :)

I found a few others after that one:

If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and wouldest forbear to help him, thou shalt surely help with him.

And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you,

Thirty milch camels with their colts, forty kine, and ten bulls, twenty she asses, and ten foals.

They took their sheep, and their oxen, and their asses, and that which was in the city, and that which was in the field,

And they laded their asses with the corn, and departed thence.

And as one of them opened his sack to give his ass provender in the inn, he espied his money; for, behold, it was in his sack’s mouth. (some other double meanings there too)

As soon as the morning was light, the men were sent away, they and their asses.

Then they rent their clothes, and laded every man his ass, and returned to the city.

And to his father he sent after this manner; ten asses laden with the good things of Egypt, and ten she asses laden with corn and bread and meat for his father by the way.

This one might be a modern-type usage of the word:
Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens

And thats just the first book of the Bible!
