Transhumanism has been around a long time. After reading the book, Windup Girl I viewed the final cut of Blade Runner movie. The Blade Runner, Rachel, the skin jobs were all trans human with varying levels servitude. Would I accept Transhumanism yes of course once they know better what they are doing. Truely learning the lessons of the Chesires. It is an interesting paradox that the Calorie companies are located in the middle of the old Bible Belt. I have move every 5 or so years to change my allergen and water contamination exposure from the 20th centrury world of contamination. My children are mixing their gene pools which I believe is a positive view to survival of my family line.

It will be interesting to see the future of TransHumanism is it Blade Runner test tube baby as Slave, Gattica breeding superbeings or Windup Girl the results of unintended consequences.

Will GM food be eaten only by GM Peeps.

Transhumanism is awesome, so I’d be all for engineering upgraded version of humans. I don’t care what luddites are saying. If I could transfer my consciousness to the new body I’d be the first to sign up.

Nuclear destruction was one of the greatest fears of the previous generations. Thankfully, today we don’t really fear, or even think about it that much. We have other worries – one of them is our dependence on fossil fuels.

I’m more concerned about the impending zombie apocalypse.

What if you could undergo a procedure that would indefinitely extend your life span, made you smarter, faster and more agile? What if it required you to transfer your mind to a new, artificial body? What if it meant leaving physical body altogether and starting new existence as a electronic ghost living in some simulated reality?

I say, BRING IT! :) I really really hope that within next 20-30 years there will be a big breakthrough in any of those areas so that I wouldn’t be too old to undergo the procedure. As long as I think I’m me I’m not worried about simulated reality or clones or whatever the technology would be.
