Starbucks Cards and Book Stores

Starbucks

I got 2 Starbucks cards as Christmas gifts from co workers. They are worth $5 each, and I still haven’t had a chance to use them. It’s not that I don’t like Starbucks – I do, as much as anyone can like totally overpriced coffee. I love it. But I just haven’t been to a real starbucks since December.

At work we have a pretty cool coffee machine – one of those one cup deals, with a bucket load of flavored coffee inserts for it. The quality of this coffee is actually pretty good so there is no reason for me to stop at the local Starbucks if I can actually have all the free coffee I can drink at work.

The MSU campus actually has a built in franchise that does brew their coffee. They are not a real Starbucks though, and so they don’t usually participate in their promotion or take their cards. But their stuff is usually cheaper than regular prices, and we get student discount. :)

I stopped by a Barnes and Noble today and picked up a book on Rails. I played around with it before using some online tutorials but I figured that it would be best to get some solid foundation first before I jump head in into the crazy stuff. The bookstore I was at had a Starbucks embedded in it. It’s kinda funny actually – you can see people sitting there, sipping coffee and reading books and magazines that they will probably never buy.

Since these damn cards have been burning a hole in my pocket all this time, I decided to kill one of them and get a Frappuccino. So I stand in line, order my thing, get to the counter, and pull out the card and I hear:

“Sorry Sir, we don’t take Starbucks Cards here…”

Assholes! I’m never going to get rid of those fucking cards!

You probably have to go to a Standardized Starbucks to purchase Gift Card Viable Coffee; along with having to apply to a Starbucks Newsletter. While doing that, they will offer a New Starbucks Teeshirt; preferably Brown, which is actually scented with Specially Brewed Kona Starbucks Coffee.

    I hate starfucks

    sorry for you

Oh boy, you really don’t like them, don’t you? :P

As regular coffee goes, I think I actually prefer Dunkin Donuts – taste wise. However I prefer the Starbucks Frappuccinos over whatever Dunkin Donuts Coolata’s or whatever they are called.

Still, I have these cards that people were giving out, and it’s free coffee.
