Stupid Quizzes

You know those silly quiz things people always post on their LiveJournal or Myspace? You know, the ones that ask you to answer all these questions like what was the last thing you ate, or who was the last person you talked to and etc… The common feature of these things is that they are quite pointless.

Why can’t those things contain serious questions? I figured that I compile my own list of questions that actually deal with some more or less serious issues and give you a really good feel of who the person is, and if you will get along with him/her.

1. What do you think about Patriot Act?
2. Who did you vote in the last election? Do you regret your choice now?
3. What do you think about NSA wiretapping?
4. Do you encrypt your emails? If not, would you encrypt them if your friends were intelligent enough to figure out PGP?
5. What do you think about software patents?
6. Do you think that software monoculture is a good thing?
7. What do you think about DRM?
8. What do you think about Trusted Computing/TCPA/Paladium?
9. Do you know what fair use is? Does DRM inhibit fair use?
10. So you think that filesharing is equivalent to theft?
11. What do you think about net neutrality?
12. Do you think that tiered internet may inhibit free speech?
13. Are you concerned about global warming?
14. What do you think about Intelligent Design and Creationism?
15. Han Solo shots first? Yes or no?
16. What do you think was Leto’s Golden Path in Frank Herbert’s Dune?

These 15 questions will let you figure out if the person taking the quiz is even worth talking to. For example, if someone has no opinion, or does not understand more than a half of these questions you can safely assume he/she belongs to the Ovis Aries species. As such, this poor person does not posses an intellect or opinion of it’s own and the only topic he/she is only capable discussing at length is celebrity gossip.

If most of the person’s answers are directly opposite to yours, you can safely remove them from from your friends list or whatnot. Unless you are very good friends already, you will not get along.

Anyone who can answer the last question in an intelligent manner is definitely worth talking to.

Am I going to take my own quiz? Hell no. I do not post stupid shit like quizzes in my blog. :mrgreen:
