If you think that being in Boy Scouts will be a good, constructive, fun experience for your kid, you may want to reconsider. Apparently many Boy Scout organizations are simply MPAA and RIAA youth indoctrination groups in which young kids are taught to abandon consumer rights, and give their money to entertainment industry. If your kid is successfully brainwashed, he will get a Copyright Merit Badge.

I think it is very important for parents to teach their children about stuff like fair use, DRM and being fucked in the ass by the entertainment industry. It is very important that we teach the little fuckers that MPAA and RIAA are evil people from day one, so that next time some brainwashing specialist shows up at their school or boy scout meeting they can tell him to go suck it.
Seriously, I think that instilling respect to authorities and law in young kids is wrong. I think we should teach them to question the authority at each step, and fight to change the laws that seem unfair to them. I’m not saying that we should teach them to break the law. But they should have a good understanding that people in authority such as teachers and community leaders, can be fired, or kicked out of office if they fuck up. Similarly, laws are only arbitrary sets of rules that need to be followed, but can be changed by working within the system.
Otherwise these kids will grow up to be complacent, disinterested adults who will blindly believe in what the figureheads on Fox News tell them, and never question the bullshit that is poured down their throats every day…
