I did two things today – I opened up registration for this blog, and created the /forum/. I figured that this might be a little bit more interesting than a shoutbox. Or not… What do you think Travis?
Note, you can still post comments without registering – I’m not changing that. The way this forum works however is that you have to register to use it. It should be very easy – all you need is your name and an email.
I don’t really expect much activity to be going on there, but if you want to share a cool link, post a stupid meme, or just say something you can use that. Let’s see how it works. I’m essentially experimenting with this WordPress based RS Discuss plugin because it integrates into the blog and allows you to use the same credentials for comments and for the forum – which is nice. My initial thought was to set up a phpBB but I didn’t feel like setting it up. This plugin took me less than 5 minutes to activate and configure – so there. Of course if we do get some good use out of the forum, I would probably move over to phpBB at a later date because it is a more robust and mature solution.
Anyways, go take a look at it and tell me what you think. Create some threads and let’s see where it goes from there. :) If no one likes the idea, or if I get spammed on there I will just take it down and we will pretend it never happened. ;)

I think that you should use a chatbox :D
But this will work for now… I am really excited I hope this works well for everyone.
when i register.. does this mean that I don’t have to put in the stupid CAPATCHA info every comment anymore?
Damn still the CAPATCHA :( oh well.
I like being logged in makes me feel good
Yeah, the plugin doesn’t give you the option to switch it off for registered users for some reason. :(
Wow the forum idea is cool :) The CAPATCHA still suxs tho!! Lmao
