Half Assed Error Messages

This totally cracked me up today:

The Never Error

Admit it, it’s hilarious. Image yourself sitting there going:

You: “Come on, WSFTP! Start! Start for me! Please!”
WSFTP: “NEVAR!”

I found this gem on the Daily WTF and it actually comes with a knowledge base article which is equally WTF worthy. They want you to kill the process and go delete some dll files in the program’s directory. Ugh… If that’s not a red flag saying “crappy software” then I don’t know what is.

I once had a firewall ask me if it should allow itself to connect to the internet. I guess it shows that its thorough but still.. if it doesn’t even trust itself.

Also had one saying “initialisation failed, (name of thing) is already running” which I guess is true, if it’s already running it maybe can’t be started again, but since this was a behind the scenes process (I hadn’t deliberately run a program while it was already running) I thought it should maybe have been programmed to respond by making use of the one that’s already there, or wait, or close the old one, or anything more intelligent than throwing a fit over it.
