So apparently I am obligated by law to make this post every December 24 or thereabouts. So as per tradition, here is that picture, of that one character from that one animated series that was once awesome, but then got renewed and I haven’t watched it out of fear that it’s not gonna be as good:
If you celebrate some wintery, Decembery holiday type thing, have a merry one. If you don’t have a religious and/or cultural reason to celebrate this time of year, I’m hoping you are having an awesome Steam Winter Sale week so far. May your credit card withstand all these amazing game deals!
PS: did anyone here watch the new Futuramas? Are they worth checking out, or are they crap and will tarnish my good memories of the original series?
New Futurama was a mix – some were really good, others were a bit meh. I’d say well worth watching but not quite the same as the original 4 seasons.
Season 6 is excellent—on par with s4. Whole bunch of winners there. I’ve only seen the first half of s7; it’s not prime material, but it has a couple of pretty good episodes, and it’s certainly not awful or a degradation of the rest of the show. Happy Xmas.
Well I’m boned my card is too empty to withstand any of the sales. I’ve spent way too much on Hearthstone. By the way have you played it – it is thoroughly awesome.
Merry Christmas!
I agree with Matt, it was a bit of a mix, but well worth watching.
Thanks Luke, and the same to you and yours. Yea the newer Futuramas are alright. I’d give the movies a miss though..
Hmm… So I guess the jury on the Futurama is… Inconclusive. I heard they totally ruined Leela in the later part of the series by finally caving in and letting the Fry-Leela ship sail which sort of took away from both of their characters. Cause their problem was always that Fry (as lovable as he was) was never the right guy for her – she deserved better. The only times they “clicked” was when Fry wasn’t being himself (like when he got the robot devils hands, or when he temporarily became a genius because of the rest-stop egg-sandwich parasites and etc..). So by putting them together they removed an incentive from Fry to strive to be better, and made Leela settle for the couch-potato slacker who won her affection mostly through attrition. True or false?
@ Liudvikas:
Have not played it. Neither me nor my brother got invites. He is actually dying for one. Do you have any?
We do play the WoW CCG that inspired it. Well, he does and he lends me one of his decks usually.
@ Tj:
Yeah, I have stayed away from the movies when they started coming out and I will continue staying away from them. :)
@ Luke Maciak:
Sadly I have no invites, got invited myself only recently. When you get in, let’s play a few matches.
So Luke, its open beta for hearthstone already, wanna play a match or two?
