I can’t tell you how many times this has happened to me:

I’m horrible when it comes to remembering people’s names and other details about them. I took quite a few classes during my college career, taught one of my own for 4 semesters, and did a TA gig for two. During that time I have met tons of people who I didn’t really get to know that much. But every once in a while this happens to me. Someone bumps into me on campus and I have no clue who it is. That is, I usually know I have met this person in the past, but I can’t figure out where, and how.
Oh, and if we were introduced once, there is almost a zero chance that I will remember your name, unless of course you are a really cute chick and I make a conscious effort to actually try to memorize your name. In that case the chances of me remembering are roughly 37.5%.
Of course the worse thing is when I get a phone call at work. The main desk redirects it, and they tell me that they have so and so on the line. So I pick up and then I spend 40 minutes on the phone, hang up and go: “who the fuck did I just talk to?”. I do that regularly.

You must be my long, lost brother! It took me about six months to get my coworkers’ names straight! I did better at remembering their IP addresses. How sick is that?!
Hehe! At least you remember the ip numbers. I can’t do that either – I forget numbers quicker than I forget names. :P
This happens every once in a while to me as well. However, I’m pretty good with names, faces and voices…just lucky I guess. :)
Its sad actually.
I have been in the same class with alot of my classmates for a semester now… many i have had class with before.. .I dont even know their names.
Now I am one of those people that everyone knows (for good or bad) so its really annoying when i cant remeber everyones name
